Camping Saturday

I remember those days… I topped out at Star Scout, fumes got to me, perfume and car fumes.
Igor downsized, moved into his caboose, added a Starlink antenna and went steam…

  1. I got to Second Class in scouting before we moved to a small ‘berg that didn’t have a troop. Learned enough to keep on studying. Found out about the Lone Scout program in my 30’s….. Oh well….

  2. Grafting a boat onto the ass and of your pickup is a novel approach.

The hot rod bus is interesting, but with that ground clearance, you can’t take it many places.

Someone did a nice job on that red house truck.

Then we have the Aztec of RVs – lovely!

Plus a couple more fine example of redneck engineering. Hope those tie-downs hold up.

Yeah, them fumes will get you!

  3. Got to Life, didn’t have the drive to make Eagle – but I made sure my only boy did!

What’s wrong with going steam? As long as the Starlink continues to work!!

Some mighty beautiful conversions there, especially that tiny trailer – a work of art.

Are those Army tents put up in a cemetery somewhere? I am looking at the middle right of the picture and think I see crosses/headstones. Civil war cemetary? Later? Is my eyesight going?

  5. Excellent set today brother especially the old-school ones.Star hell I didn’t even make it a month in Boy Scouts after working my way all the way up to it. I especially like the coffin one.

    • You find them and I will post ’em. The last ones were sent in by a loyal reader and I haven’t found any yet that I would post on here. Has to be camping related and the ones I found are of nudist colonies or resorts.

      • I’m sure, being the dedicated man you are, that you’ll continue the quest for nekkid women camping. It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

  6. Yup. Only made it to Star too. And even back then, the three required “citizenship” merit badges made my skin crawl.
The two best summers I had as a kid was working camp staff at a Boy Scout Camp. I managed to receive a couple of those stinky letters on pink stationery, and caught a lot of razzing for it.

Check out this Link, Yandex is a Russian Browser, this page has a lot of the Huge, Off-Road ‘Campers’ that Redneck Russians put together on the Giant Off-Road Trucks that are popular where there are no (Paved) Roads.
Look for the “Burlak” G-Wagen, there’s a Video (that I can’t find at the moment) this thing is Amphibious and (of course) Arctic-Operations Rated.
Another is a GAZ (the manufacturer) 39371″Vodnik”. GAZ makes a large line of Military High-Mobility Vehicles, and sells them commercially as well.
