  1. The drip gas we had offshore was as clear as any mountain stream. I doubt newer cars could run on it, but considering the computerized tuning, we might be surprised, although the sensors would probably crap in a short period of time.

  2. I ran the 283 in my 66 Chevy pickup on Coleman’s Lantern Fuel with no problems once in a pinch.

  3. IF (and that’s a BIG if…) I put a Megasquirt in my SHO, you darn betcha I could run just about any type of fuel. I could set up TWO Fuel/Air ratio tables and simply flip a switch to go between the two.

    I’ll be doing the RV this summer. FINALLY!!!

    • Just got a confirmation today, that my AMP’d Micro Squirt and harness got shipped. I bought it the end of December, before their announced price hike. It is going into one of two things: my nephew’s injected XJ6 or my blown 5.0 T Bird. Depends on whether I can get the factory Jag injection to work.
      I already have the paid version of Tuner Studio from the Mega Squirt 2, I haven’t finished soldering up, yet.
      Be interested to hear how you make out with the conversion.

  4. A flex fuel vehicle would probably have the best chance of running on lower quality fuel.

For the Zombie Apocalypse, you really want a 70’s Vintage AM General 2-1/2-Ton 6 x 6 with the M.A.N Multifuel Turbo Diesel Engine (Mechanical Injection) It is designed to run on almost Any Liquid Fuel, from Crude Gasoline, to Naval “Bunker Fuel Oil”. They will run on “Light, Sweet” Crude Oil out of the Ground, too. All older, Mechanical-Injection Diesels will Run on a wide variety of “Oil Fuels”, from “Jet A” (pure, Paraffin-Free Kerosene) Aviation Fuel, to Waste Engine Oil, with a little regular Diesel added.

    Remember, after all the “Gasoline” is Gone, the millions of Dead Cars will each have a few Gallons of Engine, Transmission, and Axle Oil, that Herr Doktor-Ing. Diesel’s Patented Oil Fuel Engine will Run.
