Bear Claw left over an hour ago and I already miss his companionship and quiet power he radiates. He took time out and money to drive from Oklahoma to South Dakota to help me at home to recover and relearn to walk and resume activities of day to day living. The first few days it was a battle of wills. I am a strong willed and independent man that while has nursed and cared for people that were experiencing the the indignity of suffering in hospitals with a major illness and trauma with the loss of privacy, autonomy and basic hygiene exposed to others. Besides having to rely and trust those they didn’t know. While I have had treatments and brief same day surgeries have never in my adult life had such a long hospital stay, loss of vital appendages and the experiences of those I once cared for. Bear Claw instinctively knew that he had to out-bull me to allow me to see, to gracefully accept I needed help he was offering. The patience of Job he exhibited. He offered me his Christian Duty to help and heal others, Heaven awaits with open arms to him.
There was cemented bonds of brotherly trust, respect, love and admiration and I will always be thankful and humbled by his devotion to help someone he barely known, except banter on the blog and numerous phone calls.
Bear Claw has a thirteen hour drive home, a long day. I pray he arrives safely, my friend.
Kudos to ya Bearclaw!
So many good people in the world… glad I’m not one of ’em! LOL
