  1. Quitting this place is like trying to kick a nicotine and opioid addiction at the same time. Trust me, I know it’s bad for me but, here I am. By the third day, every joint in my body felt like it was on fire, my hands were shaking so bad I couldn’t even work on the non fiction book I’m writing about the blind terror of Australia.

  2. And no matter what, I usually paid attention to the wrong red flags. Ignore enough & even subtle hints like, “you’d be happier in your brother’s house on the water” aren’t working.
