  1. Now that our erstwhile government has finally jailed the two or three people that were behind all of the robo-calling that went on FOR DECADES, I get no calls from people that aren’t in my contacts.

The thing that really baffles me about the robo calling is that the FCC could have stopped this thing in its tracks in the first one or two years by calling in the heads of the phone companies and telling them that if they didn’t find and stop these people, they would loose their privilege to operate. Course we know why. Follow the money into politician pockets from the phone companies.

It was always about the money, as it always is. The phone companies were making bank off of the calls, so why give that up? Then, the robo’s figured out a way to not have to pay for the calls and viola! the robo’s went to jail.

  2. Fuck that. I don’t need to know why they are calling. I don’t even want to talk to them even if I know them in most cases. Eye to eye is the only way.

  3. I read a study a while back that said over 50% of calls are not answered. In my case, it’s well over 95%. I’ve often said to the few I do answer “Congratulations. You’re one of the few people I’ll answer for.” If it’s an unknown number and it’s important, LEAVE A MESSAGE. That’s what the electronic secretary (voicemail) is for. My brother goes a step further; he only turns his phone ON twice a day to check for messages.
