  1. You remember old Dave, we used to call him 9 fingers. Actually, I have a cousin whose ex husband we used to sort of jokingly refer to as the “9 fingered fuckup”, as he had managed to cut one off somewhere along the way. I never asked how, figured it was a touchy subject.

  2. I worked at a local butcher shop in my youth as a clean-up/apprentice. They had a band-saw there that had a plaque almost like that attached to it. The man who donated half a finger to it still worked there and showed me what that saw would do to you if you didn’t respect it, on my first day there. I made sure to always respect the machinery.

  3. High school sophmore I sliced my thumb pretty good in wood shop. At the ER I was next to a man with his detatched thumb in a bowl of ice.
We worked it out that we cut our thumbs at about the same mintute. Both on band saws.

50+ years woodworking and I still have all my digits.

  4. So, Dave turned it on and cut himself. Got that pesky blood sacrifice out of the way. The rest were just the icing on the cake.
