1979 Was A Long Time Ago

While I certainly remember this tune getting played to death back then, I had never heard this version until I stumbled across it on Facebook earlier.

It’s pretty good.

  1. when that album came out,
i was big into GFR, Alice Cooper, sabbath, DP, zep, budgie, ufo, trapeze.
i heard and instantly loved that song, so much, I got the album ($3?47 at GC Murphy).
got the next 2 albums also While Sister Golden Hair wasn’t Breadfan or Doctor Doctor, I touched me.

thanks to remind me of all that.
this weekend, I think I’ll tap into some premium bourbon ( haven’t seen Orange Sunshine in decades) and revisit many of the songs of that era. I’m almost 70. do ‘t know how many chances to reflect I may get.

  2. I think that some bands are actually better on stage than in the studio. Their “versions” have more oomph to ’em. The best Hotel California I heard was a live performance, it was superior to the studio recording in almost every way.
Likewise, here. The guys change things up so they don’t get bored doing the same tunes the same way every performance. Plus, the groupies love it…

Camera and audio work was excellent !
