  1. not a problem here. I buy what I want, when I want it. she knows it not something
I do on a whim. the Springfield armory SA-35 I bought right before turkey day
was something I have been looking for over a year now. the extra magazines and a good holster might have to wait until next month.
as a rule, I like to own at least 10 magazines for each pistol I own. rifles get a couple more. some in use and some stored away. and as far as ammo goes, you can never own enough of it. without ammo, all you have is a fancy rock or club.
I do own one pistol with one magazine though, a older PPK in 22lr. made in the early 1970’s. magazines for it run over 50 bucks each when you can find them.
a true safe queen. accurate as hell. smooth to shoot. once a year shooter.
triple K makes a replacement magazine that does work after a bit, but not the same as the factory magazine does.

    • Oh, MAN!

I want to buy an SA-35 so much! Here in Orygun, our “betters” just passed an illegal measure(#114) that makes it impossible to own such a fine piece. My first pistol is a Browning Hi-Power, and I love it a lot(more than 20K rounds through this thing, the barrel is still pristine). I hear the SA-35 and the Hi-Power are totally interchangeable with each other.

      • well, they are a lot alike. but the SA35 safety is easier to use
and no hammer bit with it .
it just feels good in my hand. put a couple of hundred rounds thru it already. no problem with lead reloads or hollow points
so, I think they did improve the feed ramp a bit.
and it is very accurate too.
keeping them on a 9 inch paper plate at 75 yards is not hard to do at all. trigger is sweet !
better shooter than my sig 226 is.

          • When I first was looking for a pistol(very inexperienced), a friend who shoots competitively had a bunch of guys bring in their stuff to a range down in Calif.

Shot a whole bunch of different pistols and was still leaning towards the Glock 17.

Then I picked up the Hi-Power, equipped with the Pachmeyer grips. Fit like a glove, and the balance was perfect! Of course, it was the most expensive pistol I shot that night. Not to be swayed, I bought it and only cried once. Was a touch over $500 in those days…

  2. My first personal pistol was my GP-100. Sweet, sweet .357. I reload my own, so I do hot loads.
Personal carry is a .357 LCR, with (again!) hot loads.

Can you tell I like Ruger?
