Hell , my 4 cylinder ford ranger would do all that , except the speed. A lot cheaper.
Shit, for all that bucks, my 2 whl drive 1 ton Chevy pulling my travel trailer can do all that and has. Even climbing that pussy hill. Only where it would get me is in mud bogging that creek. I ain’t suppressed.
And: it ain’t got no shiny gaybar up front! Truth be told though, I was expecting something better, being a Dodge and all.
I like his thinking.
Why go tear assing around and break it up. There wasn’t much clearance underneath to be crashing and trashing.
I do NOT understand the idea of doing extensive Mechanical Upgrades to a Vintage Vehicle and leaving the Body all Rusted and Dented.
It’s called PATINA you heathen! Nice paint and bondo-filled memories severely cut into the beer budget.
That’s camouflage for the younger n’er do wells intent on stealing it.
1- The only two things that are Dodge on that it the body and engine.
2- I didn’t see anything that needed him to lock in the hubs.
3- I hope he unlocked the hubs when he got on the road.
There’s always someone out there with more money than common sense.
Yup, came to say the same thing. Any of my previous trucks, all bone stock 2WD models, could have done that. Including the 63 F100 straight 6 w/ 3 on the tree. Just wouldn’t have sounded as cool going down the road.
If I had stupid money, I’d have fixed up the body to look nicer and fitted it with a 440 magnum and wheels that actually fit the body. Then put that monster hellcat engine in an early 70’s Road Runner.
Not “nice”, stupid
Some shots of the interior would have been nice…
But yeah, way over-built for the “off-roading” it was doing.
Those SRT engines are showing up in all kinds of vehicles. I saw a widened and stretched 2 door Wrangler that had been turned into something resembling a Scrambler that had the HellCat stuffed in it. There is also an early Magnum station wagon that has a Hellcat drivetrain under the hood.
I have exact same year w200, sitting outside with busted leaf springs. I can’t afford to replace yet . Haha but mine is all original. 318 with 488 spicer tran. won’t go over 53 mph. But I love her…..
