This whole ‘Cashless” economic model is 100% dependent on uninterrupted electricity.
One Cyclone, Typhoon, Hurricane, Tornado, Snow/Ice Storm and you are fucked.
Welp, these Chinese people just found that out the hard way.
And this is what people in our government want to shove down our throats.
All I can say at this point is DO NOT COMPLY and RESIST AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.
I know someone that just spent 2 weeks in China, they never saw physical currency during their entire visit. Absolutely every transaction was digital.
F that.
Why would Anyone get onboard with Anything THEY decide We Need?
Have we seen that game before?
How did it work out?
Hell, storms and stuff happen, and with no electricity, it’s No Sale.
Do these people not Know what an EMP would do? Even after the power is restored, in who knows how long, the digital dollars may be just Gone.
It’s Gotta be the same idiots who can’t figure out there is no climate emergency, no,men can’t get pregnant, electric cars are not carbon neutral, and we can’t Afford more of Your stupidity.
They in fact do not know about EMP or grid down situations.
They in fact do not want to know about those.
They in fact are not interested in preparation.
They will sit in the cold and dark waiting for Uncle Sugar to come to the rescue.
Three days later, they’ll be battering down the doors of the local Kulaks to redistribute their wealth.
You are the local Kulak.
The End. Game over.
That IS the short version. Bad ending is the Agenda, not stability or prosperity.
Of course they want to eliminate cash. They will be able to track everything you purchase, the better to control your
A) Alcohol intake
B) Carbon footprint (they’ll allow you enough to commute to work but you can’t drive to the cottage, hunt camp, or your relatives) but if you had an electric vehicle…..
C) Diet (you’ve eaten your 8 ounce ration of steak for this month, eat some crickets)
The excuse will be that without cash the drug trade and other crime can be eliminated.
I endured the Ice Storm in Eastern Ontario in Jan ’98 when some towns were without electricity for 2 weeks. Without electricity, cash is king. I keep a few hundred in my wallet and a lot more in my gun safe.
During the New England October snow storm of 2011, I was without power for 4.5 days. I used my piloted nat. gas oven for heat. My place faces SSE and the sun helped during the day. It was a blessing that the temperature didn’t fall to well below freezing. Temp was in the high 30’s/low 40’s during the day.
I had to walk to the convenience store for 10 lbs of ice every day to help keep my fridge cold. I couldn’t get my car out of the garage because I couldn’t lift the door even with disabling the automatic door opener. As it was lost I lost all of the food in the freezer that I couldn’t eat during the outage, about $50.00 worth back then.
Even the graphic on the vid is a misnomer: “Typhoon Yagi reveals ‘NEW’ downside of China’s cashless society”
“New”? Anyone with more than one brain cell to rub up against another one knows that modern society is IMFUCKINGPOSSIBLE without electricity.
it’s back to late 1800’s living AT BEST without it.
You don’t even want to contemplate the worst.
So, in a cashless society, when ya get mugged, what do they take?
Your thumb drive?
Your thumb drive or your life, murfugger!
Not gonna make a very good movie..
The Government put the muggers out of business by making everything electronic – then THE GOVERNMENT does all of the mugging without even letting you know.
There is a 4 to 5% upcharge for using a credit card and I refuse to have an app with a pay function so I carry cash.
Hurricane Katrina. Cash was king once small businesses found ways to open back up even without power. Cash stash is an imperative part of prepping.

When the power goes out in a cashless society, the only people who will be able to feed themselves will be those with weapons.
The Liberals will starve first, because the only weapons they have are pronouns and dildos.
In an Electronic Transaction society, those Gold Certificates are worth… nothing until and unless the power comes back on. Even then, odds are you will be robbed by either scammers or The Gubmint (yeah, I repeated myself…)!
My stash is physical, not electronic. Ever try shooting somebody with a virtual gun or virtual ammo? Heh.
Cutie Curly Top can do a report on me anytime.
I’ve already seen this happen – Grocery Store last Summer, Level 5 Thunderstorm Blasting, Power went Out, Emergency Lights came on, and the “Cash Registers” were Dead. They couldn’t Scan the Prices, or even make change for Cash. After about ten Minutes, the Manager had to let everyone with loaded carts just Leave, as the animosity level was rising. And this was in a relatively wealthy Suburban Neighborhood. They Closed the Doors, as they had to initiate “Shutdown Procedures” to protect the Perishables as best they could.
A few Days later I was back there to get what I hadn’t before, and the entire Frozen Foods Aisles were blocked off, and the Cleaners were Spraying them down with Disinfectant; Power had been Off for more than 24 Hours, and everything Thawed and Spoiled. I asked the Manager why “Corporate” didn’t install a Backup Diesel Genset for the Refrigeration Circuits, and he said that the Losses due to Storms were “Covered by Insurance” so there was No Need for a Generator.
Cash will only be Useful if you know places that can ‘handle it’ during Grid-Down situations. And even then, I expect that after a Week or so without Power, and no “Resupply” from out-of-area sources, it’s Barter or Violence on the Table. Prepare Accordingly. Hide your Pets, too.
