Bottle caper
Beat me to it by mere minutes. We made a lot of homemade root beer back in the day.
I knew as soon as I looked at the pic. My Mom had one and it was in much better shape than that one. I think my youngest sister has it now.
I’m the Capper Copper assigned to the Capper Caper and it’s “capper”, not “caper”.

Bottle Capper
A rusty bottle capper.
What everyone else said. Pops had one for his home-brew. We would set up a production line in the garage. Just don’t bottle your brew too green or it will explode and you will have a trail of beer running down the driveway to the curb.
The Copper Clapper Caper

That was one of his many great skits. Did not have to search it. The greatest being his reply to the pro golfers wife who answered his question, “what do you do to bring him good luck”.
I have one just like it, right now, for my home-brew.

this is why when you are outside of the US, you buy and drink stuff in cans !
too many times in 3rd world shitholes they refill the bottle with “home brew stuff”
and sell it to people who have no idea. and then they wonder why they get the shits or worse. I seen that way too many times in the past to ever trust anything
in a bottle outside the states. not that I go to those places anymore, thank god !
just a reminder of a misspent youth long ago.
I’ve got one like that looks brand new. My mother has my granddaddy’s sitting on her fireplace. He liked to make homebrew (homemade beer from malted grain).
