Man, you can grow some beets and carrots and cabbages in finely composted manure.
Just a fyi, due to chemical carry over thru manure, animals fed sprayed hay pass contamination thru manure to your compost pile and may kill your garden. Lasts up to 5 years by reports from organic gardener. Has shwn up in commercial garden products as well.
And the way to test that compost is to plant some sort of squash in it as see how it does. If it grows fine, go ahead and use it. Takes time, maybe even a whole season, but if it saves poisoning your garden, it’ll be worth it.
