  1. That must be pretty severe! I can usually get by with electric tape, even in my tree service years.

  2. I usually use super glue and electrical tape if it’s bad enough. The elasticity of the electrical tape sealed it shut and helped to stop the blood flow.

    • I always went with electrical tape too. Get a tighter wrap. But watch for discoloration. Then just remove a small bit of it.

  3. I don’t have a Pic handy, but when one of my Horses has an Abscessed Hoof (that’s a Toenail Infection in people) the Medicated Bandage that has to be put on the bottom of the Foot gets held on by Duct Tape… lots of Duct Tape. It gets Changed Daily, sometimes for 3-5 Days.

  4. Scotch 33 electrical tape and I always have Super Glue in my bag at work if I do something really stupid

  5. I cannot count the times my man has come home from the farm with duct taped fingers/hands. He just lets the gashes heal over.

  6. Out hiking one year, got a SEVERE mechanical removal of skin (down to the dermis and then some!!) from the belly band of my backpack. 25 miles away from the trailhead, limited bandages. Put duct tape over it, left it alone for the rest of the hike (3 days). One home, I removed it by soaking it off with Rubbing Alcohol.

Hurt like a Mother, but did no damage to the dermis. Didn’t get an infection, either, because I poured Peroxide over the wound before I removed the tape.

    Meatball First Aid/Last Rites.

    • Peroxide is not for cleaning wounds! It kills dermis and hypodermis cells. You just wanted to see your skin bubble up and watch healthy tissue die.

      • Yep, WD40 for metal cuts and it won’t be nearly as sore the next day. Kerosene works too
