  1. Sigh! I sometimes miss my bugs (had 2) and the transporter (had 1) until I recall having to drive from Phoenix to Flagstaff in 2nd gear at 35 MPH max speed to be able to go on cross country to Michigan. Great adventure for a 20 something, no longer one for a 70 something. Still, on occasion get the twinge and wonder if it would have been possible to shoe horn a V6 turbo into the bus.

    On a related subject:
From here on, suggest everyone start using the following wording every single time there is to be any reference to energy tapped from the earth or derived from same through processing..

NATURAL FUELS AND CHEMICALS – Never, never allow the use of the word “FOSSIL” in any context other than long dead animal skeletons or creatures that have been around millions of years.

Ending the mis-naming of things removes perceived dominance of those who purposefully use such to sway emotions as opposed to reason.

With that, a MERRY CHRIST MAS to all

  2. Awesome! That was great thanks. I had a ’72 orange super beetle and a ’72 VW bus in lime green and white. My dad, my uncles, my cousins weve had dozens of VWs over the last 50 years. They are so nostalgic.

  3. Nice collection. Second car I owned was a beater 1972 bug I bought for $550. Had cardboard over the seats to keep the springs from sticking you and a permanent racing stripe on the passenger door where Pecker Pete puked chunks.
