I have always like the finish carpenter’s tool kit. Very nice, and every one seems to be a work of art. It feeds something in my head…
Me … had dreams of being a Formula One pilot. And actually pursued/participated in the racing game for five years. Until reality sunk in (my Pop wasn’t a millionaire). But it started me on my journey through life. Starting with studying Airframe and Powerplant mechanics, at the local airport.
Last week, I bought an eleven piece box end wrench set, for carrying in my new (used) cargo van. It’s fractional. The Euro made van? Is metric.
My grandfather once told me of going to a job interview and the boss only said “Bring me your toolbox.” He picked up the framing square, held it on the wall and drew a pencil line around it. He then flipped it over to check for square. He picked up a handsaw to see that it was straight, sharp, and good tooth set. He grabbed a chisel at random to see that it was razor sharp. He then said “You’ll do. You’re hired.”
Interesting aside: a framing square can be adjusted with a gentle ball-peen hammer. Tap the inside corner to widen the angle, tap the outside corner to close it.
Cool story Greg and thanks for the tip mine needed some adjustment last time I used it, did windage adjustment instead but will fix it next time its out. And no my tool box does not look like those but I wish.
