  1. We had seven stock dogs at one time and I would let them all get in the back of the pickup for a ride to town. They never jumped out until I told them to and loved riding. Got a lot of looks when I went down Main Street to the hardware store. People would come up and ask if they could pet the dogs and I’d tell them the dogs would be disappointed if they didn’t get petted. Watching them herd hogs was a riot but I had to keep them in line or they’d get bored and run one hog off just to have something to chase.

  2. That is some exceptional training (and discipline) at work. I’m also impressed the guy remembered all their names without having to second guess himself. Sure, once you get to know them, you can pick out differences to tell them apart, but they look so much alike that it’s still a pretty good trick..

  3. thanks for the smile. reminds me of my buddy Slim. a goofy roadie ridgeback.
110 pounds of muscle , bone and heart. he was a silly dog in the snow.
best protective dog I ever had. great with kids, any kids. at least up until they where over 3 feet tall anyway. he used to “dance in place ” like until he was told it was okay to play, run or go whatever. and I thought he was a plain old hound dog
when I got him from the pound too.

  4. That was awesome.
I’ve only had one dog in my life. Doobie. She minded me like that. I didn’t want a dog but she was given to me by a kid I had helped out who knew how his family treated dogs. She was a Rottweiler/Shepard mix. She lived to make me happy and she minded perfectly. I almost didn’t have to train her. She was stolen from my property when she was 8 years old. We did everything to try and find her. I’ve never had another dog because of the trauma of her going missing and knowing I could never replace her.
