The Wifely Unit Got Them All.

Hell, not only did she remember them, she can still sing every one of these jingles all the way through.

Me?

Not so much.

NO CHEATING UNTIL YOU ARE DONE!

I missed #’s 2 and 8.

They were still familiar but I couldn’t remember the product.

She rattled them right off.

That woman watches too much television.

  1. Schaefer, is the, one beer to have…

    If you’ve got the time…

    Hey Mabel…

    When you’re out of Schlitz…

And there’s more, tells you where my head’s at…

  2. Got them all, but my only defense is that I am a child of the ’80s. I don’t ascribe to that GenX crap. Luckily, I have spent the rest of my life making up for it.

  3. #2 – Tom Waits. I got all the rest.

@Matthew – From the land of sky blue water… Here’s to good friends… Could be I’m imagining things, but I think the Schlitz jingle was also used for Blitz.

Seriously, I remember all kinds of stupid shit. Maybe that’s the “normal” for an old fart.

    • Yep. Remember the theme music to movies and tv shows you haven’t watched in a bazillion years. Yep.

Remember what someone said 10 seconds ago. Nope.

TV and movie themes I remember and hum. The main theme to the original “Magnificent Seven” (not that dogsqueeze modern version.

Main theme to Errol Flynn’s “Robin Hood.” Still the best Hood movie ever.

Theme music to “The Night Stalker.” Great two movies and one season.

Theme to “The Newlywed Game.” Seriously, people think we’re kinky/loose morals today, all they have to do is watch reruns of TNG and, geez, double/triple entendres all over the place.

And, well, any time a fight starts between two people. I start humming the fight music from “Star Trek” the original series. You know, the one that plays when Spock is trying to kill Kirk on Vulcan over some two-timing female?

Wide World of Sports theme. You know, back when even obscure sports were shown on national tv.

      • Yep. The worst part is I don’t even know I remember a lot of that stuff, until something triggers it, and then I’m stuck with it for a while. Every single theme from Star Trek TOS, The Match Game, how about The Honeymooners? Our brains are full of this crap, which might be why we can’t remember shit anymore – there’s no room left in there. I also remember a startlingly large amount of the lyrics to the pop / rock tunes I grew up with – even the really bad ones. Hey, is 91 KISN still on the air? KGON? No, I don’t remember what station I listened to when all I had was a pocket AM radio.

  4. I don’t have a clue. never spent much time in front of a bobo tube.
just like when people ask me about tv shows or sports crap. don’t have a clue.

  5. Got them all. Thanks now I have those ten and countless others cycling thru my mental Playlist. “My dog’s better than your dog…. “

  6. I think the reason they are so memorable is that because they were “jingles”, they were played on the radio as well. Don’t cook tonight, call Chicken Delight. Make a V for Veep, the drink so light, Veep never spoils your appetite. Yahoo, Mountain Dew.
