Hey! You are horning in my franchise! I demand some remuneration or licencing fee. I have the coffee gig around here.
Why not just chew the whole roasted beans and swallow the grinds down with a swig of water? Saves on preparation and power consumption, and no washing up later. I’m good for heaps of tips like that.
Is that what you do in Aussie land, pick up and chew kangaroo beans? Or, is it wallabies or Koala bear pellets?
I live in the tropical far north of Queensland, where the fuck would I encounter a koala, at a zoo? Lolly shops sell chocolate-coated coffee beans. I’ve never bought any, not a rich man like some, but they see plenty of them to coffee junkies.
Yep, I’m the early riser in our office and a couple of nuked cups are standard for me. Tastes pretty much the same, that or I don’t have a ‘finicky tongue’. Its all good.
nuked coffee is better than army field coffee any day. so what if it a bit old ?
besides once the shit hits the fan, you be glad to get any coffee unless you live near where it grows.
and about old canned coffee. had some that was sitting on the shelf from 1960
at my buddy’s house, name faded to hell and gone, but it brewed up just fine.
and that was in the early 2000’s like one or two. part of his dad’s stash from back in the day of nuke prep. also had a tuna fish from a 6 oz. can ?
packed in oil, tasted good. not one of us got sick either afterwards
he dad had this vacation home/house/cabin up in the hills on the edge of a small,
real small town. the food stash was behind a false back in a closet.
enough for a month at least up there. all of it from the early to mid 1960 at least.
the peanut butter was a bit thick as you had to stir it to get the oil worked back into it. so, looks like canned coffee will last a bit, so I stocked up with a case or two downstairs. we see.
it other news, the local store brand chicken is now 12 bucks per 4 can pack.
up from 7 last summer. 8% inflation my ass.
and the electric bill is now 170 a month when it was 120 last month for almost the same kilowatt hours. more 8% inflation right ?
and the store brand pasta that was on sale at 89 per package if you bought 3 of them ? shelfs stripped bare, asked the guy stocking them about it and he told me on the over 65 sale day, Tuesday , they where sold out as the old people bought
everything on sale. they have a 10 % day on Tuesday for the over 65 people and Thursday for vets for any store brand items. and for the most part, the store brand
stuff tastes better than some of the name brand stuff.
as I figured, this shit is going to hit the people on fixed incomes faster than others
ask me how I know this ? yup. I am one of them too.
this shit is going to get a lot worse after the “election” when gas prices go back up again and I betting they go even higher than before.
who was the asshole who said we should be paying 10 bucks or more per gallon ? BTW, diesel is still over 5.30 per gallon and heating oil is about the same
this winter is going to suck for a lot of people. I used oil as a back up to the wood stoves. and the price of firewood has gone up as well around here.
oak is close to 300 per cord now a days.
I think the older folks are picking up on the idea of what is happening faster then the young ones are. I see them buying long term items while the younger ones are still buying stuff to microwave, stuff for the week at best.
not going to end well at all. if you don’t have a garden in, you best be making one ready for next spring. when the leaves come down, grind them up with a lawn mower, either bag them or rake them up to add to your garden beds. let them rot into the soil. add your old coffee grounds and egg shells as well.
if you have a wood stove, save the ash and put that on the soil too.
the state dept. paid a lot of money to some school to find out that wood ash and piss works almost as good as any store bought stuff.
buy a bunch of heirloom seeds and learn how to save your own. beans are great.
they used to call them the poor mans meat back in the 1930’s.
we all may be glad for a plate of beans in the future the way things are going.
still better than eating fucking bugs !
I’ll have to admit my first cup of the day is almost always a nuked 1/2 to a cup from the day before. As a matter of fact I can get the days coffee loaded and brewing in the time it takes to nuke my first cup..which is a minuet and 30 seconds.
Well, if’n ya don’t quit drinking it now, you will eventually.
And the inflation rate is now approaching 30% AND NOW three months of negative growth…

I picked up a shit ton of kirkland instant coffee, as that stuff never goes off if its kept dry. Put in small zip locks to be enjoyed in your cozy bunker or soggy trench. Good stuff!
I’ve been checking the price of my favorite brew every week since the Plandemic started and actually going beck to the last financial crisis. It’s been the same during all that time. What has changed is the amount in the package. $6.49 per package now down to 11oz from 16, so a 40% increase in price per oz over the last 13 years. There’s been no decrease in the package oz’s in the last couple years.
A guy at work last winter nuked his coffee a little too long, picked it up & put a tablespoon of sugar in it & the coffee exploded out of the cup . Burned him pretty bad.
I brew my daily allotment sometimes twice.
