Or their own damn pay raises
They actually haven’t had a pay raise sine 2009. Pay is $174,000 per year.
Useless!
Years ago this was put on the ballot in Colorado. People voted YES, and then RE-ELECTED EVERY SINGLE MORON.
“Term limits”: for YOUR GUY, not for MINE.
I’m confused. If term limits passed, are you saying they re-elected someone past their approved tenure? Doesn’t that mean there are no term limits?
Right on.
I have been trying to get term limits for the last 50 years. Yes, 50 years.
Pols should never be allowed to vote on any law that affects only themselves.
I wish Madison had thought thought about that.
uh…. Issues do not magically appear on ballots. They have to be approved first. Who do you imagine controls that?
Term limits first.
Then repeal the 17th amendment
Didn’t you mean the 19th Granting women voting rights?
I don’t understand why you’d think that having citizens elect Senators is a not a good thing. The 17th allows citizens to elect Senators which personally I think is a good thing. Allowing Governors to appoint Senators allows the State’s grift to become federal, whereas with elections there’s at least a shot at deposing people that should be deposed.
As to having women vote? We’ve been on a slippery downhill slope since the 19th was ratified and the incline is getting steeper with every election.
Then why didn’t framers set it up that way?
Before the 17th, Senators were elected by state legislatures not governors. The senators represent(ed) the states and representatives the people. The 17th has greatly added to the massive growth of the federal government. Has that been a good thing? And the states grift is always going to be federal whether there is a 17th or not.
Term limits are anti Constitutional and ruse to control the Right side of the dialectical bubble(Stephen Coughlin). Also, they are not what the founders wanted either as they understood the representative is just that, a representative
(John Birch Society)
Term limits will also remove righteous folks as well and there is the rub. Whomever comes in after the removed party will usually carry the same ideology as the person sent packing. Its shiny object shit, move along and read your Constitution!

Then why does the office of the President have term limits?
