I looked at the map. The place where this protest is supposed to take place locally is kinda tiny and at the junction of three major roadways in the city where I live. The cops here don’t put up with boolchit. If they don’t have a a parade permit, there’ll be some people going to jail.
Last time ANTIFA held a protest here, there were about 50 people in the parade and several thousand lining the route, with signs telling them they weren’t wanted here.

Huh, this might be an interesting weekend after all.
Looked earlier today at the linked site. There are two protests planned at significant intersections of two major, heavily travelled arterial roadways. One in the west suburbs somewhat near my AO, and one in the south suburbs, also within 15 mins drive time from home base.. Also a couple of “private address” type gatherings (as BCE referenced in his post) in the slightly more distant western suburbs. All pretty solidly conservative areas, incidentally.
The two planned at major intersections pretty well informs me that they will be intending to block roads and create a pain in the ass for people driving through those areas, which are very busy on weekends owning to heavy retail and restaurant traffic. Needless to say, I’ll be avoiding those locales on Saturday. The really big show for my fair city is planned for the old downtown area near the ballpark, which is unsurprising as that is a solidly blue shithole with a lot of room for assholes to congregate . Luckily, I’ll have no reason to be anywhere near there.
I’ll be watching/listening closely to back channel radio traffic to see what transpires; be it real trouble, or a flash in the pan. Doubtful I’ll have time or inclination to try and use these as intel gathering opportunities, though maybe I should try to.
Can’t wait! Now I have to decide if I wear my broad sword or not when I meet the protesters in the street! God Bless Florida!
