  2. If you think roundabouts are a bad idea, check out the traffic abortion that VTrans has been planning for 10 years or more…

Honestly, a “Diverging Diamond Interchange”?? You could require that everyone pull over and attend a 2 hour class before navigating this idiocy and they would STILL FUCK IT UP!

So thankful I managed to escape.

  3. Well, having been exposed to them at the tender age of 5-y years old, and watching my dad trying to get into and out of a roundabout with his honkin big (for England, anyway) 57′ Chebby wagon, I understand how they work. Unfortunately, us Americans… don’t. It’s funny to watch ’em dynamite the brakes instead of accellerating into a slot when it opens up. Which is how they are SUPPOSED to work, dangit!

Boy do people get riled when I slot myself in, go around, and slot back out. It’s like they don’t know how it works, or sumptin’.

  4. Roundabouts and traffic circles are great when the traffic is light. When it’s moderate to heavy, not so much. They also take up orders of magnitude more land than a simple cross intersection.
