The Boss speakth! “I ain’t dead!”

“Still pretty lit up from the top shelf pain meds and the anesthesia. I can’t remember half of what the lady doctor said but I do remember her saying that one of the blockages she was wanting to get through didn’t happen because the shit was hard like concrete. She mentioned that there are new blood vessels growing around it. I will try and read the after procedure report tomorrow when I’m not so out of it. I just wanted to let you know my current status. Or at least as much as I can in my current state. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«”

I just received this email at 9:24PM tonight, this is the first I have heard from him

  1. sounds like he is okay. Even the area that couldn’t be fixed is on self repair mode. If you have enough time the body builds a detour.

  2. That’s a load off!
My utter contempt for doctors and the “health” industry at large had me fearing the worst.
Hopefully, the old bastard is good for another couple of decades!
    Thanks, CederQ!!

  3. very glad to hear that. sounds like he going to make it.
now as long as he doesn’t overdo himself like rebuilding the house or garage
or even his sprite he should come out okay.
maybe sort out his ‘junk” drawer and sort out his pile of bolts and whatnot.
something sitting down to keep his mind busy so he doesn’t go nuts.
forget TV, it will just piss you off. do some small things.

  4. dave in pa’s right: stay away from daytime TV. In your case it’s infested with bolsheviks, in ours it’s lowest common denominator electric wallpaper for the lowest available brows.
Do as you’re told, rest and exercise in the correct proportions, onwards and uowards!

  5. Good deal. Yeah, coming out of anesthesia is always an experience. HEAL. That’s your ONLY JOB right now.

  6. For all the bitching about modern medicine and doctors, those buggers are keeping Phil going for a good few years yet. Maybe a thread full of memes thanking doctors for all the lives they’ve saved is in order?

Hope Phil’s recovering is smooth as possible, best wishes buddy.

  7. Ditto all of the above, you have a good doc if she decided to not follow the plan for what now appears to be in self repair mode. Amazing that your body worked around major blockage without worse symptoms, keep that good luck going.

  8. Hope he took some hellatious Metal music with him so he can really enjoy tripping balls on the meds.

  9. Nice to hear Phil is in recovery mode and the procedures reportedly have gone well. Sleep as much as you can. It speeds healing. More prayers on the way.

  10. Answered prayers for sure. The two men I know who went through that are fighting in a senior division MMA so we will have to be careful how we treat Phil from now on.

    • I just told the good lady doctor I had an early Christmas present for her and handed my half a pack of smokes and lighter to her and swore I would do my best to quit the damn things.
I thought she was gonna cry.

      • Try the nicotine patches. I use them for balance issues (MS), but nicotine in and of itself is a very beneficial herb. “Rugby” brand makes the purest. Gum and other nicotine sources contain harmful chemicals.

      • Best of luck ‘kicking the habit” Phil.
Take care and get well soon!
        With prayers respectfully,
        Jeffery in Alabama

  11. This is good news indeed. Hopefully it is the start of things getting better for you.

Now remember to not give the nurses too much grief or they’ll put the bed pan in the freezer first.

  12. Tell him to give himself time to heal. We’ll be here when he gets back. And see….prayers do work.

  13. Phil, good to see you are doing better, stay focused and follow instructions. We all want you well and actually doing BETTER. Don’t rush it, even if you are bored.
    Ask me how I know.
Others will attest to this course of action.

    Whew!
