Such a travesty and unnecessary loss of life and rare equipment.
I found this on a forum but there wasn’t any source given so I couldn’t see if there were more like it and it was the only picture posted,
You can right click on it, open it up in another tab and then make it bigger.
The question about the vax status of the P63 has not been answered. No one that has taken the jab should be allowed to fly.
Keep an eye on Blancolirio channel for accurate info and updates. His day job is airline pilot.–

You can search his channel for “909” to see his discussion of the NTSB reports on that crash. Sucky part is that is was maintenance related and preventable.
Within the last hour (around 5pm Pacific Time) Juan posted a 19 minute video on the crash.

That was just horrible and am sorry for the loss of all involved.
Wow. It appears you can see someone in the B-17s cockpit. Tragic and May they Rest In Peace.
A lot of people screaming to ground these old planes right now, and while that might make sense for some of them, there are still many WWII era planes that fly just fine. Simple lasts a long time.
Hope it was quick for those poor bastards.
Oh, it was. Total time was about 4 seconds, according to the video I saw. The Golden disintegrated, the wing collapsed on the -17, and it was over FAST – no chance of survivors.
Rest in Peace, brothers.
Aye
Few airplanes, old. antique, or modern. respond well to a high speed collision.
The age of the plane had no bearing on this tragedy.
Yep sad day loss of both crews
P63 driver was apparently in control the whole time, started a left bank turn perhaps to zip between the B17 and the trailing B24, B17 in his blind spot below the wing. His fault for not really looking at other air traffic before starting this ill advised maneuver.
That is my humble opinion after viewing availability video.
Wait a year or so for the FAA report.
Steve the Engineer
You nailed it, Steve. The fault was totally the pilot of the Golden.
Accepting the ultra liberal slant of “Yahoo!” this article is still 8 pounds of bullshit in a 5 pound bag.

This was an accident. Regrettable and Tragic, yes, but shit happens, and from most accounts, one or both of the pilots lost their perspective of position, and subsequently lost track of the other plane, and this is the result. The Karens who say the older planes and warbirds should be grounded or additional restrictions need to be placed on air shows, have no place to criticize or judge, because nothing will change except fewer people will attend.
Those are the same Karens that want to come around and take your guns away after every shooting.
The planes are fine; probably in the best shape they’ve been in since they were built, but pilot error is as bad as it ever was.
Sucking the joy out of life is the goal of CommielibNWOWEFdeepstate. Well, that and kill/control us until we’re down to acceptable numbers.

I also recommend blancolirio’s channel. Key questions for me is why planes of such different speed are maneuvering at the same altitude and on the same pattern? That just begs for an accident. While the fighter pilot might have lost situational awareness, the event Airboss shouldn’t have allowed them to be that close in the first place.
