Sold Me On Some

I have been carrying a knife, small flashlight, Bic lighter and a small 4 inch crescent wrench in my pockets for over 20 years now.

I stumbled across the following video earlier today and immediately got on Amazon and ordered some of the goodies this guy is going to show you.

It won’t let me embed the video so you will have to click in the highlighted words above.

The very first thing I ordered was the little 711L ratchet,

It’s a1/4 drive bit driver that is only two inches long and can hold some specialized 1/4 inch bits either in the head or inside the handle. Of course it will hold regular 1/4 inch bits in the head too.

I can think of a million times that I wished I had something like it for tight spots.

The specialized bits are double ended but really short.

They are Steinwhale 10in1 Short Stubby Mini Screwdriver for tight spots, Cellulose Acetate Fiber Made Handle, Double-headed High Hardness S2 Steel Bits,

I also ordered some other goodies he mentions in his Every Day Carry Kit.

I can’t wait to get my hands on these little goodies.

I also ordered a little pouch kinda thing to hold it all that will fit in my pocket.

I already carry the new Milwaukee razor knife that has a 1/4 inch bit holder on it that flips out so the little bits will also fit in that.

That and a small 4 inch Crescent wrench, a 6 inch Crescent wrench in my back pocket along with a small pair of Knipex Cobra adjustable pliers in the same back pocket.

Then there is the Kline Multi Bit pocket screwdriver,

and a cheap Chinesium larger version too.

All in all, it gives me a fighting chance to fix innumerable small problems I run into on a daily basis without having to lug around a big tool bag.

Of course all that little stuff adds up and my suspenders get a workout all day, every day.

I thought I would share the little ratchet and bits but I recommend watching the whole video up above.

  1. That’s cool. Especially the pocket card – I’ve been pondering some sort of a little pallet to keep things better organized, and something like that might just be the ticket. Not that I’m all EDC Tactical obsessed, but the junk I do carry around could use some improvement.

I’ve been lusting after Knipex pliers for some time, especially since the last ChannelLock adjustable pliers I bought were shit. Haven’t quite persuaded myself to spend the coin.

    • Spend the coin Mr Mayo. You will only reget it if you lose them. Been a edc for a long time with me.

  2. I will stick with my Swiss Army Knife. The most important accessory is the corkscrew.

  3. A friends father , a great mechanic , always had a 4 inch cresent , small phillips and blade screwdriver and a 4 inch pair of offset pliers. Took care of a lot of problems.

  4. That little pouch he uses to carry it around? I just happen to have three of them, and it has an added bonus of having a solar panel on one side! It can recharge a phone in an emergency…. Hmmmmmmmm………….

  5. Love Knipex cutters and channel locks, superior to every other brand I’ve used in my career (Snap-on, Craftsman new and old, ChannelLock, various chinesium). That 4” pair may seem high dollar for how little they are but they are surprisingly handy and worth every penny. Knipex also makes a version without the grips. Plus they can be warrantied on Snap-on and Matco trucks (some Matco pliers are rebranded Knipex pliers).

I’ve been looking for a mini screwdriver kit for the little things, that Klein looks to be just right for that.

  6. I used that Klein for a few years now, and it works well. I’ve been thinking about a pouch lately to keep all the assorted EDC I carry organized. I’m no marsupial, so I’ll watch the vid and take notes. Thanks for the heads up!

  7. Or you could just carry a good multitool – Leatherman Wave+, or the smaller lighter (and half price) SOG Powerpint and some 1/4″ bits in a holder. I’m always amazed at how much I can get done with just one of those 2 favorites.

  9. My Pops doesn’t get out of bed without his Leatherman Wave, a Streamlight mini light and a 12 foot tape measure on his belt or in his pockets. I get by with a good knife and a Streamlight. It helps I am rarely out of sight of a toolbox of some variety.
