Never was a fan of turkey spam, texture was off putting, and the flavor was weak.
This was the only turkey I could afford for Thanksgiving.
at $5.50 a can, maybe not even that
I know what I’m going to look for at Kroger the next time I’m there!
I used to be able to buy generic turkey loaf, essentially deboned turkey pieces pressed into a loaf shape, packaged in an aluminum baking pan, and pre-cooked. I haven’t seen them for 20 years, but if turkey spam tastes similar, I won’t care.
That should be illegal.
Spam – the food choice of people that like fat, salt and other noxious chemicals in their food. The taste of that crap should be enough to put anyone off of that stuff for the rest of their life.
Any wonder why it’s the national food of Hawaii and Hawaiians are the most far left state in the country?
Don’t forget Minnesota, where ketchup is a vegetable, and span is a menu option.
The urban areas of Minnesota are kinda left leaning as well.
WW2. it was the only meat most of them got during that time.
same thing with the Brits. we shipped tons of it over there.
never was a fan of it myself. but if there nothing else,,,
I bought a lot of canned chicken myself. and learned how to cook it up in rather tasteful meals. canned roast beef not bad with things like taters and sometime rice
came up with a few good meals made with canned ham as well.
figured I might as well find out what works now instead of later.
and if it tastes good, stock up on it while I can.
Sam’s has dadgum good canned chicken white meat. Really good in chicken enchiladas.
The bacon Spam isn’t bad. I like the regular Spam, grilled outside served on a toasted bun with Monterey Jack cheese with Jalapeno.
