You do realize who this is? That is Margaret Atwood the author of The Handmaid’s Tale and other boring and dreary novels that I was forced to read in school as she’s considered to be a Canadian Literature icon. Her books may have inflicted brain damage on me, I would fall asleep reading them and bang my head on the desk.
This particular photo was posted the day Roe vs Wade was overturned. She somehow believes that the individual states having the power to determine when and if abortions can be performed means that women will be stripped of all rights and forced to bear children for men just like in her ridiculous novel.
Yes, I do. I like to see who else is awake… I tend to make subtle political and rhetorical statements… I can’t help it.
Wow. I didn’t think anybody outside of Canada knew who the self-righteous shrew is. She’s a big fish in the small CanLit pond because it is such a small pond.
I am not just a pretty face…
Sorry to disappoint ya, laddie, but not even that.
Didn’t recognize her and I’ve never read any of her stuff, but I can see crazy eyes, and would stay well out of reach.
A couple of Canuckustani writers I have read and admired are Farley Mowat and Robertson Davies. Though nowadays their politics would likely make me gag.
Same for me. Looks like a muff diver with that evil smile.
I met a woman that I wanted to impress who was a feminist so I half lied and told her I read the handmade’s tale when in actualy fact I had only seen the shitty movie. She was impressed enough so she actually married me 4 months later and it lasted 7 months!!!
Of course I blame Mags Attwood entirely, and feminism…. and maybe some leftism thrown in there for colour, but mostly Maggie!!!
Thanks a lot for ruining a perfectly good year of my life.
I, of course, take NO reponsibility!!
