Yeah, strikes home with me. Had a friend, older guy. This was 40 years ago. Went into work and dispatcher told me that George was sick.
Did my trip, got back to the terminal, beat. Forgot all about George. He died the next day.

My best friend died Sept. 30, 2023. We talked all the time. I was with him 12 hours before he died. Didn’t make a bit of difference. He wasn’t eager to go and I miss him.
