Cederq, when encountering those unfortunate individuals who’ve apparently had a collision with a boxful of terminal fishing tackle, and you feel like being of assistance in their plight but don’t have your nursing and mechanical experience, which pliers do you recommend to grasp that jangly stuff with? Whether you want to pull the crap out right away or lead them around a bit first, to awaken them to their errors. I may sound a tad intolerant to some of the readers, especially any of those Mouse House individuals who may still follow Phil.
Bent nose pliers, ya can’t go wrong…
I have fishing pliers with a hook cutter on one side for those situations. It will cut big, thick hooks and I’ve used it to cut stainless cables.
What?
No Duck Bill Pliers?
I have 17 out of 20 in my toolbox.
Just missing the welding, gas, and fencing pliers…..
Ah, fencing pliers. Every man should have at least one set of fencing pliers. Because they are so much more useful than just for fencing.
Cutting down rivets, or cutting nails to use as rivets? Fencing pliers.
Cutting heavy wire? Fencing pliers.
Emergency hammer? Fencing pliers.
Need to pop a hole in some thin metal, like to drain a can or drum? Fencing pliers.
Self defense weapon that masquerades as a tool? Fencing pliers.
Came to say the same! Fencing pliers are an entire tool box in one tool.
Every one of those are better known as the “damn set of pliers you cant find because some SOB didn’t put ’em back where they came from”
Sounds like a discipline problem of the owner.
NOBODY touches my tools, and I have a lot of them, because I am disciplined. One begats the other.
When you aint there, shit happens, sometimes.
Now I’ve always called them channel locks and vise grips, not tongue pliers and locking pliers. And I don’t see no needle nose up there either.
Needle nose???? Donde????
Maybe the bent pliers, but I would be lost without my needlenose
Have a few of those in my box. Yes fencing pliers, the swiss army knife of do it yourselfers.
Wouldn’t the “diagonal plier” be better described as wire cutteres?
