I am a doctor in a large university owned multi location practice.
Medicine has become a racket with $ being the goal, not patient care.
Lots of reasons, greed of doctors is low on the list. Reimbursement drops, expense increases and if you don’t work smart, you will be out of business. But it has become a different field than 35 years ago when the financial and paperwork and insurance pressures were much less. Clicking on a computer and working as a data entry clerk make the job less satisfying.
Have no idea if it can be fixed, but it will collapse in the near future is someone doesn’t do an overhaul, not just patches.
God bless and keep Phil. Hope his doctors and their co workers know how fortunate they are to be able to do so much. And hope they care everyday about the patient in front of them.
