I’m having a roll off dumpster put in the backyard next week. I’m not even kidding. I’ve never lived in one place this long and stuff just accumulates.
When my parents, who grew up in the Depression and strictly adhered to the maxim “never throw anything away, it be useful sometime”, finally moved out of our home of 50+ years, we filled up three roll offs with stuff they had accumulated.
I must admit that I’m a victim of the same philosophy.
I experience all of those simultaneously. But I’m not very ambitious, yet, about getting rid of things – it does happen, from time to time. To an extent, it’s selling off one hobby to feed another.
That last phase coincides with the one where when you meet you friends, they say, “You look good!”
Crap accumulates, moving to a new domicile can usually result in the “thinning of the herd”…
