If he used that scythe all day there’s a reason why he’s skinny. The only fat guys in Dad’s generation were the bankers, lawyers, and others who sat on their ass all day. Not too many in my generation either but lordy, so so many fatties now a days.
I’ll bet there’s a sweat ring on that straw hat he’s wearing. All the old men who knew how to work had one.
I learned how to swing one as a vey young kid, and I decided at that time that Manuel Labor was NOT for me. Although we DID use a hand scythe for trimming tall weeds…
