Having had to break down a tire in the middle of nowhere without proper tools, can really grok that one. Few probably remember the days of inner tubes anyway.
BTW, this is one of the best reasons to have a big honking Wilton vise that opens 6 inches or more in any workshop..
The last time I was at my tire shop I asked if they did split rims. The answer was “No. Nobody here knows how to do them”.
Considering I grew up changing both pickup and logging truck tires that were tube type I was amazed.
There’s a tire machine in the background .I would exhaust all avenues before I tried to manually remove it Allan
