  1. Raise your hand if you spend more time hobbling around looking for something instead of fixing something.

  2. There is no such state known as “having enough tools, ” unless you are dead.

  3. I managed to shield all my Snap On tools from the divorce. Left a bunch of Wal Mart tools out in the roll away as bait. She doesn’t know the difference. I have a set of 6 Snap On 1/4″ drive 12 point swivel sockets that are absolutely required for working on certain turboprop engines even though I don’t do that anymore. They retail for around $300 and you can hold the whole set in the palm of your hand. They are currently in hiding.

    • I have Dad’s old Plumb 1/4″ drive set that he bought pre-WWII in a small metal case. They don’t make ’em like that anymore, that’s for sure. Also have his 3/8 and 1/2″ sets but those are mixes of Snap-On and Craftsman, some pieces as old as the Plumb set and some into the 50’s, some sockets swapped out here and there as they wore out or broke.

      • Interestingly, I have some of my father’s and GRANDfather’s woodworking and mechanics tools. I even have my dad’s aircraft mechanics’ jumpsuit from ’36, still slightly smells of oil and diesel and whatnot.

  4. I will stand in front of my garage with my son and say, “Son, one day this will all be yours”.
