When someone says a sliver will do the trick they ain’t kiiddin’. great pies!
With vanilla ice cream. Heaven!
Absolutely
Now that’s a pie that looks like it will taste really good.
Not like those machine-made and tasteless store-bought ones.
Never cared for them. I would say an acquired taste. Fruit pies. Hell ya.
Pecan pies were my favorite, until my mother made me a hickory-nut pie.
Pecan pie – Okay
PUMPKIN pie – Hold me back! I’ll eat the whole thing in one sitting. With or without whipped cream!
My mother used to bake her pecan pies until the pecans were almost black and the filling would slice your mouth open because it had turned into hard candy…It wasn’t until I was almost thirty that I had a slice of GOOD pecan pie.
My Mamma, a Georgia gal, made a Stewart Pecan Pie that never lost a competition. Lordy., how I remember those church layouts.
Wouldn’t happen to recall that recipe would ya? I think I can source Stewart pecans, but a tried-and-true recipe is the best way to go!
for the filling gently toast sesame seeds and mix in the filling with or without pecan pieces then put pecan halves on top and bake
I’m partial to Sweet Potatoes pie myself but any pie will do.
So, pee-cahn, PEE-cahn, PEEK-in, pah-kahn… No matter, a good one is the BEST! May have to bake one up this weekend now that it is getting cooler here in the Yakima Valley.
