Old Truck Tuesday

Sam Bedwell and his ’52 Power Wagon on the Alleghany Star Route, 1968.
Sam and his daughter Sue delivered the mail to Alleghany in Sierra County for over 50 years, from ’38 to ’94. In the early days Sam would haul gold back to town from the mines. He was never robbed.
This truck belonged to a well respected logger named S.C. ‘Doc’ Linebaugh from White Pines (near Arnold) CA. Doc was the biggest logger in the area at one time. He died in ’74. He was very brand loyal and at one time all his trucks were GMC. This is quite a load for a truck like this.
Here are a couple of neat pictures of KWs you might like that I found while looking for Doc’s GMC. This last picture is very close to the same year model as the ’65 ‘Narrow Nose’ KW that I owned. The four pictures above were sent in by Elmo, thanks for sending them!

Laying It Down Iconically

You gotta be a certain age to ride this ride kids.

That makes me wonder how many people alive today have even ever heard of Frank Marino?

Some may, here he is then and now.

I stumbled on this video while doing some Youtube Surfing and was blown away all over again by this guy.

He was heavily influenced by Jimmy Hendrix and this is his rendition of Voodoo Child.

The owner of the video has banned reproduction of it but this is good enough that you need to click through and watch it.

Give the video a couple minutes for the camera guy to get his head out of his ass and then prepare to get BLASTED IN THE FACE the way only Frank can do it.
