NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle, His family And 4 Other Souls Perish In Plane Crash

It’s tragic.

Greg Biffle was a local boy.

He grew up in Camas Washington which shares a border with Washougal and is 20 minutes from here. I have lived in Camas myself.

Although I never met the guy personally, I know several people who knew him as he was growing up.

He made his name in NASCAR but what really hit me when I heard of his death was his humanitarian side that I remembered.

When the hurrican wiped out parts of Appalachia last year, he took his own helicopter, using his own fuel on his own time and delivered desperately needed supplies to those people who were hopelessly cut off way back in the Hollers.up in the hills of North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.

That says it all about the man’s character to me.

My condolences to his family and the families of the folks who went down with him.
