    • Zactly as I was thinking horse drawn.

Not kidding about 10 -12 years ago I used to joke about owning a plow and a mule.

  1. Not the future. Will be the good old days. Look closely, runs on gas, not electric . Therefore can not be the future.

  2. Have fun with this one guys, cuz’ I or Phil see another one of these and she as cute as she is will, face the BAN HAMMER! Update, sorry guys, she hit the ban hammer hard, had too, she infested several posts…

  3. Now if the engine is a one-lunger diesel from a small tractor, running on your home distilled biodiesel, it might have possibilities post collapse. There’s also the intriguing idea of wood gas, but I’ve no idea if that has real application or not. Still gonna need us old coot mechanics to keep it running though.

    • I would love to get my hands on one of those old Lister type diesel
engines. and the problem with bio-diesel is that it has to be above
32 or more degrees to work. but you can get and buy heaters for the fuel line. I looked into bio-diesel and how to make it before moving on to wood gas. and no. the wood gasifier is still not done yet.
to make bio diesel, you will need lye and booze. you can save or reclaim some of the booze after making it. but not much from what I read so far. not sure about making/getting lye grid down, but wood chips and twigs ? I live in the woods.

      • I made homemade lye once. Bucket of wood ashes, fill with water, let steep a week or so, and decant. The end result was yellowish fluid with a pH of 12.5.
