Fuck me, that had to hurt, didn’t need the audio to confirm that! How does one hammer your thumb? You either had to hold the nail, or was using a pneumatic hammer and wasn’t watching what the hell he was doing…
Worst one I had to deal with in ER was a 1/2″ X 8″ threaded rod got impaled dead center through the Interphalangeal (IP) Joint, (your joint just below the nail) separating the distal phalanx and the proximal phalanx. Best way to get it out was to unscrew the rod all the way through, he got a hefty dose of lidocaine…
I’m with Nolan there. I can smash a finger with a hammer and just shake it off but hearing somebody tell about smacking theirs and I shudder just thinking about it.
On the other hand. Bunch of us were at the range a few years ago when the idiot in the bunch closed the bolt on his AR-15 on his pinkie finger and couldn’t figure out how to get it out. Nor could he explain later how he did it. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth and blood. We were not very helpful or sympathetic. Great fun.
Had a guy at work that did that but headed up the nail, buried it in his hand. We had to bang the nail from the underside to be able to get the head of the nail up enough to get hold of it. He didn’t even know, he was passed out. Those 16p nail guns are strong.
handled well.
I have had several nail gun injuries into heel. Don’t squat with nail gun at your hip.
And you get a knee scope to flush out knee if you put it through your quad tendon.
Before antibiotics, might have lead to amputations.

…followed by a teatnus shot and plenty of antibiotics. And a few days off.
I’d like to get a “teatnus” shot…
Dumbass.
Once I figured out what I was seeing my toes curled ,,How did that happen, anyway?

What Nolan said!
no matter how it happened, that is one tough hombre.
I about pissed myself, watching!

Drugs are bad, M’kay
Never attribute to drugs what can adequately be explained by just plain stupidity.
BTDT, BTW, but it was a 6d finish nail and it went right beside the nail. Hurt like hell for two days.
