This country has been going downhill since the creation of SWAT teams. I understand the need, but not the application. Kicking in Grandmas door at 3 am because junior sold pot to an undercover cop is overkill; a simple knock on the door would suffice, or just pick the kid up on the street.
What we are creating with this new domestic police force is also a simple framework to normalize the use of military force against EVERY American (Obama’s wet dream BTW). We need the illegals to leave, and the simplest way to do that, AT NO COST TO THE TAXPAYER, is to stop giving them free shit.
Be aware too, that Palantir, the company that developed Israel’s internal surveillance systems, is under contract with our own government to build and institute a comparable system here in the US.

I disagree. The time for that mindset is long past. America is now at a crossroads. The machinery to make war on its own citizens has been in place for a long, long time now. It hasn’t been used because of the threat of reprisals by both the parties when they come back into power. It used to function as a deterrent.it no longer does. Neither side is capable of any kind of foresight or planning or thinking ahead. Now Americans are waging war on their govt and other Americans. The nation is coming to loggerheads and soon things will stop working which will promote more turmoil. You can’t run a country on fraud, force, escalation and soft rebellion.

I don’t think you’re wrong. We’ve had states and cities (anyplace that has been a sanctuary city, engaged in voter fraud, census fraud, etc.) in open rebellion against the FEDGOV for years now. Until recently, this state of rebellion was mostly non-violent and went unaddressed by a FEDGOV that clearly has no interest in enforcing the law to clean it up.
The states and cities in rebellion, for their part, have now entered the violent phase of the operation. Still, the FEDGOV does nothing. The violence will continue to escalate, and the number of locales where it is active will also increase. Trump and the FEDGOV now face a no win situation: put down the rebellion with brute force, after it has been allowed to foment for far too long, and crash the economy, and in turn the government.
Or, continue doing nothing, which will have the more or less the same outcome, with only the timing being somewhat different. Really, it amounts to the difference between doing a slightly controlled demolition, and an entirely unconstrained, balls out wrecking of the entire country.
There is no third option, and probably nothing to be done that preserves Trump’s office, his legacy, and maybe even his life, as all are in play either way. The best he can possibly do now is to take a shot at doing the right thing, and eventually being historically recognized for not pussing out, and actually attempting to get a handle on this, even if he ultimately fails.
If he does nothing, the USA is still fucked, and so is he, for lacking the stones to act against the rebellion that is clearly taking place. He will be recorded by history as a giant loser who ceded control of the country to the very worst political elements operating within it, while still failing to save the economy he worships.
Best I can tell, either he doesn’t want to crash the market and asset prices (which is coming regardless) by taking the needed actions, as these remaining elevated are central to his image of himself, and how he wants others to perceive him. Or, he isn’t actually in control of shit, and is being told what to do and say. Of course, if the latter is the case, he must still realize his legacy is going to be shit if he willfully fails to act to prevent a communist takeover of the country, or at least large portions of it.
In any of the above scenarios, the country is lost, and he ends up being the president who oversaw the destruction of America and it’s people. That ain’t much of a bragging point for a guy who in still hung up on how popularly he is perceived.

I agree that the current approach is horribly inefficient, and the optics are really bad. The loss of life is tragic, but the lines have been drawn, the demands of the state government to cease all federal law enforcement efforts within the state is a nonstarter. The state government will not alter their stance with regards to their sanctuary policies. Sadly, This will only end with the application of the insurrection act, along with federal charges for state officials, and any and all that can be connected to the massive fraud occurring daily.

But to me, the War Between the States marked the end of the Republic in the form it had existed prior, which was a federation of soverign states.

The opening salvo of open action was Covid. The communists saw that the republicans not only did nothing but often meekly cowered. It also causes one to contemplate that this country – and most of the people in it – don’t deserve to survive. If 80% of the population is that stupid and weak, it’s a lost cause.
