Old Truck Tuesday

From Grog, oh, and he wants to remind us he hates Budd wheels on trucks…
Both pics are from Large Marge.  I also include a snap of our only home, our 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck we converted to our concept of an Expedition Vehicle in 2003. Two decades full-time live-aboard.
Attached, please find a snap of our latest Expedition Vehicle build on a 2006 Autocar firetruck foundation… stripped of its apparatus. I also fabricated our toy-hauler on a similar commercial chassis.
What Igor needs to convert his Beaver Motor Home too… Call her Ethel.
Almost included this in the Camping Saturday…

  1. Not gonna happen, CederQ – I’m too creaky to continuously stoke the firebox.

Besides, finding coal/coke is getting hard to find!

  2. Not to hijack this post, but I saw this and just couldn’t resist. I would have emailed, but there doesn’t seem to be email address on the site.

Relating back to the recent post about pineapple pizza:

    Enjoy! ;-))

    • Nemo, You stole my thunder, I had saved that and was planning on using that… and yes, there is an email address to me at the bottom of the page. BustedCederq at GMX.com

  3. EWS309 – another Edinburgh registration, but this time owned by Drybrough’s brewery in Craigmillar. Is it a Commer?

My dad was a cooper at MacLachlans’ Brewery just up the road from Drybroughs, having served his time at Murray’s Brewery across the road. Craigmillar was renowned for the fine quality of its water, hence all the breweries.

  4. I’m digging that contraption of Marge’s, a lot. I could see myself doing that, but I’d have to get divorced first.

    • Would you believe…
A couple decades ago, we had a 1984 Peterbilt cab-over.
Sixty inch integral sleeper… plus a seven-foot condo.
      Similar to Portrait Fourteen.
We acquired it from a mover/driver husband and wife team, full-time travelers while part-time with a moving company.
400 Cummins Big-Cam through an 8LL, sure liked that rig.
      A steady 6.7mpg ’empty’.
      Dual 120-gallon fuel-tanks.
      .
We removed the fifth-wheel, then installed a 16′ dry-van box, and kitted it for SCUBA in Baja.
Lockers on both axles, plus a locker between the axles.
