I would have loved to get my dad old truck. a 1968 chevy C-20, 292 inline six backed with a iron 4 speed tranny. he used to haul well over a ton and a half on it
all the time. he gave it to his brother to sell. he never did. he used the hell out of it
on the farm. I rebuilt the engine in 75 for dad. same time replaced the clutch.
the damn truck would cruise at 100mph all day and was great on gas as well.
and more than once he had so much weight on it that he had to tap on the brakes
to make a turn (?) seems like the front wheels would lift up a bit after 2 tons on it
and yes. dad could get a bit nuts at times, or rather it looked like he was.
he always seem to get away with overloading it like that.
funny thing about dad. he told me I did a okay job on his truck.
later on, mom told me he told her it ran better now than when he bought it new.
but dad was like that. didn’t want you to get a big head as he called it.
and he used to steal my whiskey too. but he would leave 2 beers in the fridge.
he wouldn’t drink your last beer unless you gave it to him.
It’s more fun to steal whiskey than beer!
Yeah, but it’s more whiskey than stealing beer!!!
you are not the one paying for it. he liked the cheap stuff and
I bought better stuff than he did.
one time I caught him putting 50 year old stuff in his coffee
cup. I yelled hey at him and he just said it went well with coffee. that brandy was so smooth.
it was a gift. and not to him, ME !
“Pow, to the moon Alice”
Bang, Zoom!
‘Been a long time since I saw The Honeymooners!!!
exactly what I was thinking!
