I LOVE Old Truck Tuesday! I’m not a big Dodge guy, but I’ve had the hots for 1957 Power Wagon Restomod for a couple of years. When I win the tax on ignorance (lottery), it’ll be on my list.
Number 1. How do you cut boards out of a log that big? Is it used for something else?
Originally a pit saw. One man in a ditch below and another above pulling a two handled saw.
Warkworth is in NZ and the tree is kauri, a really nice wood suitable for ship building as well as furniture and framing. Lots of it ended up being used to build in Sydney and even San Francisco, being good for a back haul on the sailing ships.
