  1. Re the Rolls-Royce pickup, it was not unheard of in the pre-war era to convert used luxury cars into utility vehicles. Packards and Rolls-Royce had long wheelbases, powerful engines and very strong frames, differentials and running gear. The police in Australia (Perth IIRC) bought two Bentleys in the ’20s as radio cars because the batteries and radio were so heavy and bulky and required a radio operator too. In WWI in Egypt Rolls-Royce cars had a ton of armour added and a turret with a water cooled machine gun and were still in service when WWII broke out. Rolls-Royces were also converted into ambulances and firetrucks during the Blitz in WWII. The car chases in the Bond movies of the ’60s were filmed from a Rolls-Royce camera truck.

  3. I believe the Rolls Royce pickup is known as Miss Agnes and owned by a guy named Travis in Fort Lauderdale. Parks it at the Marina, He is at slip f-18.
