How so? I don’t see it. Looks like a real locomotive and landscape to me.
Not too sure about that one although the curve is a bit extreme for real trains.
#1 is a Garratt design articulated engine 8-8-2+2-8-4 that ran on a 3′ 6″ gage track, so quite a bit narrower that US standard. The design allowed operating with much tighter turns than rigid frame locos.

A few of those look like they borrowed the design lines of the Brit’s “Mallard” series locos.

Those Duplex Articulated Locomotives have the water Tank over the forward Drivers, so as they run off the Water, the Front Drivers will start to Slip.
Probably “It’s a Feature, not a Bug”.
