  1. If the Wellington picture is the GN, I’ve been there several times, the remains of the wreck are still there if one knows where to look.

  2. Used to ride the Nancy Hanks from Atlanta to Wadley to visit my mother’s folks. I loved it. What a way to travel, not squashed into a tiny seat with no leg room between two fat people who hog the armrests.

  3. I think you had one of the Big Boys pictured on a previous week. Wanted to share these two links on Big Boy 4014. My son shot and uploaded both of these videos. My kids’ maternal grandfather was an engineer on these, and this particular one in fact.

Here’s 4014 passing eastward through Rawlins, Wyoming on its way to Cheyenne to be restored and refitted to run on oil instead of coal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-kkfKyD1b4

Here it is making it’s public debut, leaving Cheyenne post-retrofit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWX15dGvqtM

    • A year back I went to watch 4014 roll through a near by town. It was magnificent the only improvement would have been belching big smoke.

7th to last picture of the tressell I had the luxury of going under one many times on the way out of Grandma’s town headed to the woods.

All good Cederq. thank you. Question have you had the luck to see auroraborealis where you are? I saw a documentary last night that showed some good ones in your area.

      • I have been out camping further North and have seen them and I use to see them when I lived in Spokane and when camping up in BC when you could go there and fish and hunt when the canucks were a little saner…

  4. Well, I’ll be dipped – picture #3 looks like it was the model for the locomotive at the end of Back To The Future part 2!

I thought that was just Hollyweird being “artistic” but it looks like I was wrong!!
