Exceptional set this week. Especially the Berkshire in the first photo and that PRR GG1 later on. Can’t tell if the Berkshire is Pere Marquette or Nickel Plate RR but they sure were gorgeous engines.
Even the B&W’s are beautiful pics.
I gotta get my British Railways book pictures to CederQ so he can post ’em. Being over in England for four of my formative years gave me a love of Live Steam, especially when we had to take the train to London from Ipswich. Good memories!
Picture #16 is the Southern Pacific Sunset Limited train number 1, westbound, from New Orleans to Los Angeles. The location is near New Iberia, Louisiana. The tower I seen just at the rear of the train is West Tower Interlocking. This line was the subsidiary Texas and New Orleans Railroad.
I worked as an engineer on this subdivision for 36 years.
