  1. 2 Very few wemmenz will dress that classy ever again.

3 Kentucky dinner train. There are several of these types of touring trains in North America. They are all on my bucket list.

    • We took the Mt Shasta dinner train out of Mccloud once. How can a dinner take three hours? Well it was fabulous. Service was five star, never in the way, but your water glass was always full. I don’t know if it is still there or not as this was a long time ago.

      • Thanks for that, added to my list. There is a train from Denver to Winterpark Colorado for skiing but I never took it. Always thought that would be cool. The Alaskan ones are tops on my lists.

  2. Mainland Australia was composed of five seperate colonial governments until Federation on Jan 1st 1901, then comprising six states including Tasmania, and the Territories. So began five rail administrations on the mainland, each knowing better than the rest as regards rail guages, rolling stock, engines and whatnot. Apart from the Indian-Pacific that runs across the Nullarbor Desert from east to west, a comparable trip being across the US states, the various administrations havn’t changed too much in the near 200 years. The last train robbery that I recall was on the Kuranda Rail, in the early ’70s. The robbery team blocked the rail, used sawn-off shotties to intimidate the guards, then escaped on trail bikes with payrolls of the various government departments being sent by rail.

  3. I reckon that cops were complicit in this and other armed robberies in the far north.
