Yes, we did.
Iron sights? Couldn’t afford a scope?
(Drops computer and runs…)
Nope. I was sober too. Then again, I was eight years old.
Comatose equine… Dead horse! You snuck that right in on me Mr Cederq!
C+B, comatose doesn’t mean dead, lethargy; torpid, unconscious.
I got my Deer Rifle in 1983 (I borrowed my dad’s prior to that). I scrimped and saved for 3 years to get a decent scope for my 30-06. I have never missed a shot with it.
Wouldn’t using bullets be easier?
(Drops computer, runs far far away!)
I still use iron sights. although most of my rifles have scopes on them.
but I still like to have irons as backup sights. not really a fan of red dots, but I can see where they might be handy. good glass is not cheap. although I have found that most Vortex scopes worth the money you get them for.
funny thing, I have a old as hell Weaver scope made in El paso that puts a lot of new scope to shame. it a old K10 that I have on 22lr rifle that can put bullets damn near on top of each other at 100 yards all day long.
shot a lot of squirrels with that rifle over the years, not as many as I used too.
old Mossberg tube magazine rifle that shoots shorts, longs and long rifle.
with 22 shorts, there is almost no sound of the round being fired. just a small pop like sound. quiet as a air rifle.
WW II vets did.
Had to requalify during a hurricane. During the rapid fire, I had to blow the water out of my rear sight so I could see the damn target! Still shot Expert – Rah!
