Olivia Newton-John dead at 73
Olivia Newton-John has died at the age of 73 after a years-long battle with breast cancer.
The actress passed away peacefully at her home in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Her husband John Easterling announced her death on her Facebook page.
I got this from Wirecutter’s site. A sad day indeed. I had a crush on her that I am sure shared with five million other men.
Yeah, she was some hot stuff back in the ’70s and ’80s.
Breast cancer sucks. I’ve know far, far too many women who died from it. One would be too many, but I’ve met about 15 who died from it and only a few who survived.
Olivia Newton John got her first breast cancer diagnosis in ’92, same year as my wife’s first one. ONJ apparently had it spread although it was slow growing or it stayed in remission. My wife had a recurrence in ’97 which was an awful ordeal for the whole year. At one point she was in a group of 12 who were told they had a 75% chance of surviving five years. Of the 12 only my wife and one other woman made it to five years. 2 out of 12 is 16%, nowhere near the 75% they were told. The other woman passed away a few years ago, they said it was leukemia caused by the treatment she had. My wife had the same treatments.
Around here, I think I can say, “FUCK CANCER!.” Delete if you have to.
Sig, not only would I not delete it, I would (will) capitalize it and expand the font! Lost my father to Glioblastoma Multiforma, the second most aggressive form of brain cancer.
I’ve been listening to her music since I heard the news. A truly awesome singer, actress, woman. She will be missed.
Still hot stuff at her age, Oooo oo ooooooo been ringing in my head since I heard the news.
She had a husband? I thought she was a lesbian?
I always liked her voice. Pretty too. All good things must pass.
Don’t be drinking the kool-aid, laddie. She was as Hetero as it gets.
She reminds me of my little wife. No kiddin’. Texas girl’s are exceptional beauties.
She will be missed. Was warm for her form, but her voice was what bewitched. Glad she went peacefully.
