What IS that crazy instrument on the left, with the little head that opens its mouth? Where can I get one? I’d like to prank my musician friends and drag out that thing in mid-song.
My brother in law had a tendency to buy complex, gadgety things for our son (he’s an engineer by trade). When he settled down and had a couple of kids, my wife and I reciprocated.
They were down for a visit a few years ago and as they were leaving for the 8-9 hour drive back to New Hampshire, I presented his son and daughter with a couple of those things. Made sure they had fresh Duracells in them, too.
My kind of patron of the arts, well done. I was set upon to supervise two children for half a day. I like to teach, and I like science, and they still remember their class after 25 years.
They both got a big, fully loaded cheeseburger, Jolt cola, the giant pixie stick, a big Jolly Rancher to dip into the pixie stick powder, and Gensing when their parents were a half hour from arriving. Once they were buckled in the car, they got a Gatorade and Snickers parting gifts.
For some reason, no one asked me to supervise after that, how odd.
That’s pretty good, all considering. Wouldn’t be a good idea to do that after a few energy drinks, the instruments would not survive.
That was … … … cool.
That’s 33 seconds of my life I’ll never get back (all the farther I could stand it, sorry).

Nice. Had me recalling a “Kazoo Orchestra” performance of the theme from 2001
Now do “Thunderstruck”.

And sounding about as well as some of the big rock stars, too.
